Yemen Resilience Monitor will measure social cohesion with the following indicators: (i) condence in institutions, (ii) participation, (iii) tolerance, and (iv) solidarity.
Problems within the community
Yemen Resilience Monitor looked into challenges that communities are facing. People interviewed in all six governorates raised unemployment and poverty as top two important problems.
Condence in Institutions
UNDP’s Rapid Integrated Assessment collected data on condence level in institutions including national government, local authority, local council, police, military, political parties, judicial system, tribal groups and CSOs/NGOs. People’s trust in formal institutions was particularly low except police and military while there are variations among governorates.
Participation
47.2% of people interviewed said their voices were not heard in decision making in their community. 63.5% of respondents answered that there is no mechanism/network/ support to listen to their voices.
